DARA — Clinic AI Assistant
DARA is the assistant built into Dentospire that answers a dental clinic's questions from its own records — today's appointments, a patient's treatment history, unpaid bills — and can book, check in or cancel an appointment when asked.
The problem in a real clinic
Simple questions take several screens: who is still to come today, has this patient paid, when was the last RCT. The receptionist is busy, the report is three clicks away, and the patient is waiting while you look.
How it works
- Open DARA from the corner of any Dentospire screen while you are signed in.
- Type your question, or tap the microphone and speak it in English, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil or another listed language.
- Ask about the clinic: today's summary, upcoming appointments, a patient's treatment history, or which bills are unpaid.
- Ask it to act: “Book appointment for Rahul tomorrow 3pm” books through the same appointment book the front desk uses, and check-in or cancel works for a single clear match.
- Follow the link in the reply to the Appointments, Visit Book or Finance page to see or change the record yourself.
What you see on screen
- A chat panel that stays on the page you were working on.
- Answers built from your clinic's own appointments, patients and bills, with a link to the page each answer came from.
- A plain refusal instead of a guess when a name matches more than one patient or a time slot is already taken.
Safety and control
- Booking, checking in and cancelling need the Appointments permission. Without it, DARA says so instead of making the change.
- Money — collections, unpaid bills, what a patient has paid — is answered only for staff with the Finance permission, and left out of DARA's context for everyone else.
- It never picks between two patients: with more than one match it asks for the full name or sends you to the right page.
- Staff need the AI permission to use DARA, and patient details are removed from the notes and history it reads before a question is answered.
- A command runs only when it is DARA's whole reply, so an instruction hidden inside a document or a longer answer cannot book or cancel anything.
Good to know
- Each question uses the clinic's daily AI allowance, which rises with the plan.
- It answers from what is recorded in Dentospire; it cannot see paper files, WhatsApp chats or another clinic's data.
- It does not give clinical advice to patients. It is for the dentist and staff inside the clinic.
- For anything with several matches, it points you to the Appointments or Patients page rather than choosing for you.
Frequently asked questions
Can DARA book an appointment for my dental clinic?
Yes, for staff with the Appointments permission. Say or type something like “Book appointment for Rahul tomorrow 3pm” and DARA books it through the normal appointment book. If the slot is taken or more than one patient matches the name, it tells you rather than guessing.
Can DARA show unpaid bills to my receptionist?
Only if that receptionist has the Finance permission. DARA uses the same money permission as the Finance pages, so staff without it get a refusal for unpaid bills and revenue questions, and money figures are left out of what DARA reads for them.
Can I talk to DARA in Hindi?
Yes. Tap the microphone and choose Hindi, Marathi, Tamil or another listed language to speak your question, or type it. DARA answers from the clinic's records in Dentospire.
Does DARA see other clinics' patient data?
No. DARA answers from the signed-in clinic's own records only, under the signed-in person's permissions. Patient details are also removed from the notes and chat history it reads before it answers.
