MolarPlus is made by Clino Health in Pune and is sold as tiered subscriptions, with apps for the web, phones and desktop computers.
Dentospire is made by a practising dentist and is organised around the visit itself: a one-screen chairside Fast Mode, AI assistance that the dentist reviews and that a clinic can leave switched off, a patient portal, screens and patient documents in many Indian languages, and a free plan with no time limit. The practical difference is less about feature lists and more about how each feels at the chair, so the best test is to run one real working day through each.
MolarPlus is a broad, well-organised clinic management product, and on the basics (appointments, charting, billing, WhatsApp, inventory, lab work) the two are close. Dentospire's case is ease and safety at the chair: one screen for the whole visit, AI that is optional and always reviewed by the dentist, a patient portal, and Indian-language screens and documents.
If you want downloadable desktop apps or a shared WhatsApp and email inbox, MolarPlus is the better fit. If you want to test with real patients on a free plan first, or you want the visit to be one screen, Dentospire is.

Fast Mode takes a visit from choosing the patient to consent, treatment, payment and prescription on one screen, and saves into the same records as the rest of Dentospire, so nothing is copied across afterwards. Consent comes before treatment, and money owed from earlier visits is shown apart from today's bill. MolarPlus's public pages describe modules such as appointments, records and billing, but not a single-screen visit flow.
Dentospire's more advanced AI tools (the clinical advisor, extra suggestion buttons, the dashboard AI cards and the AI growth tab) are off until your clinic switches them on in Settings. Where AI does help, such as highlighting areas on an X-ray or drafting a note, it is decision support: you review it, untick what does not apply, and nothing reaches the chart until you confirm. The dentist stays the final authority.
Consent forms lock once signed and every signing is logged. Deleting a patient asks for a reason, which is kept in the audit trail. Dentospire is aligned with India's DPDP Act 2023 and offers ABHA integration.
Day-before reminders, prescriptions and broadcasts go out on WhatsApp from a business sender, and a patient who replies STOP is honoured. MolarPlus also sends WhatsApp reminders, so on the basics this is a tie. How many messages are included depends on your plan.
