Tally & GST Export for Your Accountant
Dentospire turns an Indian dental clinic's invoices into a Tally import file and a GSTR-1 sales report, so the accountant can import and file without anyone retyping the month's bills.
The problem in a real clinic
Every month someone reads the bill book aloud while someone else types it into Tally, and the GST sales figure is pieced together in a spreadsheet at filing time. One skipped bill and the books and the return disagree.
How it works
- Open Finance, then Collection, and stay on your clinic's view.
- Choose the month and download the Tally file. It holds one sales voucher for each invoice, with CGST and SGST or IGST on the right ledgers.
- Your accountant imports the XML file into Tally using its standard import. No Tally login or connection from Dentospire is needed.
- Download the GSTR-1 sales report for the same period, with invoice-level rows and B2CS figures grouped by place of supply and rate.
What you see on screen
- The Tally and GSTR-1 downloads beside the clinic's collection figures for the month.
- Tax split the way it was on each invoice: CGST and SGST within your state, IGST for a patient from another state.
Safety and control
- Both exports are built from the invoices already in Dentospire, so the file matches the bills the patients received.
- The Collection page, and so both exports, need the Finance permission.
- Every Tally voucher is balanced before it is written, so an import does not leave half-posted entries.
Good to know
- These exports are for clinics in India. Clinics elsewhere use a single tax line on invoices and do not see the GST report or Tally export.
- Dentospire does not file your return. It produces the report your accountant files.
- Ledger names in the file follow a standard sales setup; your accountant may map them to your own ledgers once in Tally.
Frequently asked questions
Can I export dental clinic bills from Dentospire to Tally?
Yes, for clinics in India. The Collection page gives you a Tally XML file with one sales voucher per invoice for the month, with CGST, SGST or IGST on the right ledgers. Your accountant imports it using Tally's standard import.
Does Dentospire file GSTR-1 for my dental clinic?
No. It produces the GSTR-1 sales report from your invoices — invoice-level rows and B2CS totals by place of supply and rate — and your accountant files the return from it.
What does my accountant need to import Dentospire's Tally file?
Only Tally. The file uses Tally's standard XML import for sales vouchers, written for Tally ERP 9 and TallyPrime, so there is no Tally account, API or plugin to connect to Dentospire. Your accountant may map the ledger names to their own once.
How does Dentospire decide between CGST/SGST and IGST on a dental bill?
By comparing your clinic's state with the patient's state on the invoice. The same state gives CGST and SGST; a different state gives IGST. The Tally file and the GSTR-1 report use the split already on each bill.
