Treatment Plans & Quotations
Dentospire's treatment plans let a dentist lay out a multi-visit case step by step with a cost for each, print it as a signed estimate for the patient, and turn it into a numbered quotation and then a bill.
The problem in a real clinic
The patient asks what the whole implant or root canal case will cost, and the answer is scribbled on the back of an appointment card. Two months later nobody agrees on the figure, and the front desk has to ring the doctor to find out what was promised.
How it works
- On the patient's record, create a plan or apply a template such as root canal treatment, implant, crown and bridge, orthodontics or complete denture; your clinic can save its own templates too.
- Adjust the steps: each has its teeth and its cost, the order can be changed before you save, and the total updates when you remove a step.
- Print the plan on your letterhead as an estimate, with the steps, what is done so far, the total, and signature lines for doctor and patient — or send the itemised plan from your own WhatsApp.
- When you start a step, it becomes a real treatment on the patient's record, linked back to the plan.
- Press Convert to Quotation to copy every step into a numbered draft quotation, which converts to a bill once the patient agrees.
What you see on screen
- The plan as a card with each step, its teeth, its cost and whether it has started.
- The same total on the card, on the printed estimate and in the WhatsApp message.
- The patient's Quotations tab, opened for you after conversion, ready to print, share or convert to a bill.
What the patient gets
- A printed estimate on the clinic's letterhead with every step and the total, and lines for both signatures.
- The itemised plan on WhatsApp, if you choose to send it, so they have the figures in writing before deciding.
Safety and control
- A quotation turns into a bill exactly once; a second attempt is refused and names the bill that already exists.
- Creating, viewing and changing quotations needs the Finance permission.
- A plan can only be made for a patient of your own clinic, and a visiting doctor only for their own patients.
- The WhatsApp share opens your own WhatsApp with the message ready; nothing is sent until you press send.
Good to know
- Treatment plans need the Starter plan or above.
- Completing a treatment from the Treatments list does not tick off the matching plan step; start steps from the plan to keep the two linked.
- Patients cannot approve a plan in the patient portal. Record their agreement by converting the quotation.
- A step you do not want is removed from the plan rather than marked declined.
Frequently asked questions
Can Dentospire print a dental treatment estimate for the patient to sign?
Yes. A treatment plan prints on your clinic letterhead with each step, what is already done, the estimated total, and signature lines for the doctor and the patient. The same itemised plan can be sent from your WhatsApp.
Does Dentospire have ready-made treatment plan templates for dental procedures?
Yes. Templates for cases such as root canal treatment, implants, crown and bridge, orthodontics, wisdom tooth surgery and complete dentures come with numbered steps and the gap between visits, and your clinic can add its own. Applying one fills in the whole plan at once.
How does a dental treatment plan become a bill in Dentospire?
Press Convert to Quotation and every step is copied into a numbered draft quotation on the patient's Quotations tab. When the patient agrees, convert that quotation to a bill. It can be converted only once, so the same case is never billed twice.
Which Dentospire plan includes treatment plans?
Treatment plans need the Starter plan or above; the Free plan does not include them. The pricing page lists what each plan includes.
